Thanks to SuperbHosting.net,
we now have a dedicated server and are currently fundraising
for the cost of a programming consultant. The consultant would
provide technical advice and guidance to the team.
The consultant would provide
technical advice and guidance to the team. Ideally, this person
would need to have experience building PHP/MySQL websites,
understand Flash and how it works with PHP, be an expert in
HTML, PHP, XML-RPC, have an understanding of database access
with cross-browser compatibility, and possess knowledge of
and understanding of open source software — basically an all
around web guru.
Since SWYF is a global art
project, we are looking for translators who might be interested
in working with us. Ideally, we are looking to translate materials
into Spanish, Korean, Portugese, Japanese, French, Hindi,
and Finnish.

team members is not factored into the budget. Team members
are responsible for overall graphic design, web development,
content development, programming, database management, research,
outreach, and other project-related activities. We estimate
that each team member spends on average, 60 hours/month
on the project. At $40/hr for 10 months, the total cost
for work done by all 3 team members would total $72,000.
Budget Narrative
Dedicated Server & Hosting
Facility: Dedicated server needed to run image analysis
engine. Outside hosting facility will allow us to focus
on the development of the site without having to constantly
troubleshoot technical issues related to the server. SuperbHosting.net
has generously donated use of server to SWYF for next ten
months.
Software: Creative Suite
is one of the most important software packages to the SWYF
project in terms of the designing and development of the
front end.
Workstations: Provides working
space for 3 team members
Programming Consultant: Consultant
would provide technical advice and guidance. Consultant
would have experience building PHP/MySQL websites, understanding

Translation Consultants:
SWYF is focused on how globally dispersed people visually
depict emotions. Based on the 10 countries we are targeting,
we will need 7 translators. Forms, outreach materials and
email inquiries will have to be translated into the following
languages (based on our target countries): Spanish, Korean,
Portugese, Japanese, French, Hindi, and Finnish
